I still love My New Career.. I loved it so much back in the 80s, I tried making my high school new wave/rock band do a cover of it. Of course, we never did it... they just thought it was too "out there".
Nightporters slip away...

Hmmm...my new career...LOVE IT!

I was a bit drunk last night when I went to bed and decided to listen to GTP loud with my headphones on in bed. It was the remastered version so you could hear EVERYTHING.

I just have to say...it PISSES on so much that calls itself music these days, musically, melodically, structurally....and other long words ending in ...ally that I cant think of right now.

I found myself crying like a baby at certain songs, notably Nightporter, which hitherto has never been one of my favourites...

Yes - it is extremely synth-tastic isnt it?!!

I love it when you re-discover songs you've hitherto not really considered as much as others (your favourites)...sometimes the passing of time lends a different perspective and we are able to appreciate certain songs more.....

Yes , that's great.

I had been listening to a few songs by Yellow Magic Orchestra in the morning and then ,at night, when I was on my way back home after the first clubbing night since I finished my exams (so I was a little bit drunk) and I was listening to GTP and when it came it was like 'WoW How could I haven't noticed it??'

It's great.

Noticed what? The Sakamoto influence? And what do you mean by 'The Tie' Gods? Sorry if I've missed something obvious!!

Was listening to GTP last night and in particular to the basslines - those are some of the maddest basslines ever. Inspired. Some of Mick's best work.

Oh yeah, I absolutely agree! The bridge and chorus on Methods of Dance are positively exhilarating, aren't they?

Let's face it, this is just a brilliant album all the way around. :)

I think I had a holy experience the first time I heard Methods of Dance. :D

And I agree with Poisoned. GTP is my favourite Japan album, without a doubt.
