Stranger Inside

I wonder has anyone heard it as a whole yet? What do they think?

I downloaded the tracks that immediately grabbed me from iTunes, earlier this evening and will be getting the rest later in the week when I get paid. So I have been listening to those songs I have, "Morphia" and "Abyssn" aaaaal evening long now - obsessive, moi? LOL

I am so absolutely in love with them, just this pleasant, soothing sound that makes me really look forward to getting the other tracks. :D

My first reaction to "Morphia" in particular was that it's really sensual music, which is not something I've necessarily got from Barbieri's tracks before.

I find it really smooth, lush and a little mesmerising, hence my obsessive listening of it.

Anyway my comments are a little garbled and strewn with no doubt unnecessary levels of adjectives because it takes me a while to express my feelings coherently. But I just wanted to share what I felt and to see if anyone else had anything more sensible to say about their experience of it.

I pre-ordered from Burning Shed and they emailed last night to say it's been posted, so hopefully I'll be able to contribute very soon :D

Yeah, looking forward to hearing this, got the email notice too. Will likely take a week or so to arrive, that's been the case in the past.

Guess what new friend was waiting for me on the doormat when I got home?

I am very happy about that... :D

...but...

I was saddened by one thing

Do you remember when I emailed Richard the list of questions?

In his replies he implied that his mother's not alive any more...

and the album is dedicated to 'Rosemary Barbieri 1961-2006', which afaik was his sister. Poor Rich!

Got mine today, listening to Hypnotek at the moment - so far, Cave and Byzantium are early faves.

I've now listened to it four times - but mine was a special mix, with a guest appearance by Mrs Northern Rail; "The next train on platform three is the 7.55 to Greenbank" etc etc...

Seriously, I love it. The problem for me, however, is being able to review it objectively...

And another problem is listening to it while catching trains and walking around Manchester - I only know the names of the first three tracks!

Anyway, I definitely think Richard's a genius :D - but then I did think that before...

I listened to it further at the train to Barcelona. I am liking it a lot. I was quite surprised to find the CD in most of the record shops I visited there. One even had like 5 or 6 copies! And also had a special ed of Fear of a Blank Planet even!

I've not seen it in any shops in Manchester... :? ...even though I saw several copies of Stars Die, Metanoia, Coma Divine, etc... strange.

Seems like BCN is the place to be! :D
