Barbieri/Roedelius/Chianura album

Postby anortherncod on Fri Dec 28, 2007 10:51 am

Hello everyone.

Yesterday - after Santa had delivered me £65 to spend on music - I sat
down and made a long overdue list of things I need (after air, food and
petrol, you understand!).

On Richard Barbieri's website, under the discography, is listed an
album called T'AI Auditorium made in 2001 with Roedelius and Chianura.

I'm assuming that it's the same Chianura who made Kinapparatom with
Steve Jansen, but other than that, I've not got a flaming clue about
this album.

Can anyone shed any light on it for me, please?

Thanks very much

Natasha

If I am not wrong that CD has diverse pieces of all the musicians listed, but Richard's tracks are some of the ones included in "Other Worlds In A Small Room". So if you have that one, you have the tracks already. And yes, it's the same Chianura (a total gentleman, btw, very nice man).

Oh, I see! Yes, it looks that way on the website doesn't it? Thanks!

I think Richard's website is very detailed in the discography - unlike David's but that's probably because David wants to distance himself from some of his past work as we all know.

Welcome! And yes, Richard's discography is quite detailed. Good for us trying to know where he played and where he didn't ;)

The source tracks are indeed from "Other Worlds In A Small Room" (Well, technically, Breaking the Silence is from "Worlds In A Small Room") but they are not just 'played straight'

There has been a certain amount of manipulation to them, so, although they are familiar, they are different.

The two tracks on "Other Worlds..." run to a total of about 15 minutes, on T'ai they run to about 21 minutes

I finally got this album after a little problem with Btf (they sent me the wrong CD first and I had to send it back) and Sonic is right (of course  ) - the tracks are kind of like an RB 'megamix', although that makes it sound horrible, but it isn't!

Depends how much of a completist you are...
