New Richard Barbieri/Steve Hogarth album in autumn

Postby inkinthewell on Sun Mar 08, 2015 6:51 pm

Together with a Kscope album, I have received a booklet on the label's albums and artists. In the last pages there's a Coming Soon section, where you can find "The Night Gives Birth", a previously unreleased live album by Steve Jansen & Richard Barbieri, which I believe is now "Lumen", and a new studio album by Steve Hogarth & Richard Barbieri, coming in autumn 2015.
Any news anyone?

This is absolutely wonderful! Do you think they'll be doing a tour? There's a lot of good stuff coming out this autumn.
I am far too young for David Sylvian. Duran Duran is great.

I really hope so. The tour for the first album was cancelled (I had tickets :| ), but they said they had learnt the lesson and would do things differently next time around. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Ah, no! :( Did you get a refund? I had a concert last September (Kaiser Chiefs) and it was postponed till next month, I hate when that sort of thing happens. If they go on tour though hopefully they come where I am in the States. That'd be amazing to see them. :) I'm excited (in all optimism).

Yes, I did. And yes, it's annoying when tours/concerts you had planned to go to are cancelled.
I'm not sure about them touring the States. I remember various non-American non-mainstream bands/artists complaining, in recent years, about the prohibitive costs of touring the US, and Rich and Steve, sadly, are not the most popular duo around. But miracles do happen...

3 songs that didn't make it to the album are now available on Bandcamp as a download:
https://marillionofficial.bandcamp.com/ ... to-be-born

Three songs written in 2015 that we didn’t follow up on at the time, partly because of other commitments but also unsure that they were future album material.

Having recently revisited and worked on these a little, we began to enjoy the quirky, playful and atmospheric nature of these pieces and decided we would rather these be heard than not. As always thanks for supporting our music." - Richard Barbieri
