From Sons of Pioneers tour programme.
The Memory Fades
And the scene becomes distorted
The place we lay becomes a mystery
Even the words we spoke seem quieter than the silence
And, now a strange shadow falls across you face
Can I ever find you in this darkness
Or are you no longer here.
From Mick's catalogue for his 1982 exhibition.
It's only a matter of time
Before my hands
Will cover the ground between us.
Under the warmth of the sun
You'll remain in my grasp forever
But I fear, if the wind should blow too hard
My hold on you will be lost.
The repetition of my life
Is ringing in my ears
My head feels abandoned
My face shows it's years
The weight of my shoulders
Is held by my cane
Very soon I shall sleep
And remain ..............
So private is my mind
That amidst the insensitive noise
Of a crowded room
I quietly fall in love
Unobserved
Every look you give
Every word you speak
Shows a power from within
Touch me this strength and we
will fight everything together
But turn your back on me
and my life will become a losing battle.
