Holy crap!!!!!!!!

That is gorgeous!!!!!!!

I do believe if I won that auction I would have been sleeping with it for a while, then put it in a curio or something for all eternity......... :-D

Wonder what it ended up fetching?

Bigger question would be----why did he part with it?

I did a bit of research on this. I know it fetched at least 2500 (US dollars I think...could be sterling).
It's a Yamaha, which I found a bit suprising.
Play Washburn meself. I WANT his Steniberg guitar. I WANT IT! I WANT IT!

C

proggirl - just looked at your myspace...erm...space..isn't that H as in Marillion H? Was a HUGE fan of them when Fish was the singer. Lost interest after he went. But, well....well done!

Yuppers it was - met him a few times actually - met them all, including the big man himself - which was a treat and a half! He's an amazing character! Took me a bit to stay into them after he went, but I'm REALLY glad I hung in there.

Cheers!

Could have sworn I saw Fish in a film recently playing a mental patient but I can't remember the name of the film

What's your favourite Marillion (Fishy) album? Mine is Clutching at Straws. So, so good.

I had to pop in on this, I love Marillion. My favorite is "Script for A Jester's Tear"; it's the first one I heard by them, I've a lot of good memories associated with it.

Ahhh, I'm at a loss for words!

If I had won that damned guitar, I would've given it its own bedroom.

yeah script was my first marillion LP, (remember when we used call them LPs?!). Brilliant. Used to love forgotten sons; even better I thought was the live version on Real to Reel. And the title track was brilliant also. Still love all those changes they make in the music, one small section going to the next. Misplaced Childhood was a masterpiece for that.
Prefer Straws though cos it's more palpable to me.

Hmmm.

Beautiful guitar!!! I'm surprised that it's a Yamaha too...it looks almost like a Gretsch!

He's played in a few films and TV specials as well.

Clutching might get it for me, but the one I listen to most from that era is still La Gazza Ladra - excellent live album and contains most of my favourites. But for studio albums - Misplaced (being the album I contribute to completely changing my life - really) clutches it with me even more - So my definitive answer has to be - Misplaced Childhood.

But Script is really high up there too, oh and B-Sides Themselves I love!! Damn - I hate these questions. Misplaced, though, really Misplaced!
