Spoken word in Async in April.
Spoken word in There Is No Love in May.
Will those who don't love his spoken word abilities be third time lucky in June/July? :D

Received it today.
It is what it is: ambient spoken word.
I think David's voice is relaxed on this one, not with his sometimes somewhat desperate tone.
The sounds, with a spotlight on tubular bells, fit good with the atmosphere of the voice.
Only be careful with the volume: when played too loud the high radio-signal may give you some unpleasant memories from the morning after a loud concert or disco-visit

I had the album turned up loud to hear the first few minutes well then BOOM Sylvian comes in and nearly blows the speakers!

B.t.w. since David's lyrics were recorded in 2014 I wondered if they were included in Hypergraphia, released in the same year. But that's not the case.

Yeah, David shure makes a loud introduction. :smt020

I was listening to it with earphones on my ipod, but I think the whole neighbourhood heard DS's entry on that one!
Apart from that, I was really pleased with it. It sounds more than just a spoken contribution; I mean, his "speaking" is the centre of it all, and Davies and Wastell follow it brilliantly.

I must admit that I did not intend buying this release when the details first surfaced. But curiousity got the better of me and I wondered if it would be like Playhouse, listened once and that's it.

Very little music, almost a spoken word piece but I love it. Davids delivery is fantasric and the pieces words to me are mesmerising. In parts absolutely hilarious.

Still want to hear him sing again though !

I'm less excited by this release. I feel it is ground he has covered before, more successfully. I loved "Thoroughly Lost To Logic", thought the Uncommon Deities tracks were poor, loved The Kilowatt Hour/There's a Light... and didn't mind the Async track. But this just seems to be a little too repetitive.

Guess that's why I do love PTS - it is dramatically different, and has quite a certain suspense...

What startled me is my own perception of time. I thought The Kilowatt Hour was only a year old, or so...Turns out is is 3 years ago! Uncommon Deities is already 5 years ago! And PTS is almost 2 years ago!
I recognize no method of living that I know of, I see only the basic materials I may use

Zero interest from me... if I wanted to hear DS talking I could watch an interview on Youtube.

Yes, you all were so very right. At first, when hearing the repetitive refrain "There is no love", I thought 'that's not so loud' and kept the volume as I had initially adjusted it. And then, 'boom' - Sylvian's voice is extremely loud compared to the accompaniment. It is as if Rupert Clervaux wanted to be sure to place much greater emphasis on the sinister text throughout the entire track.
This is an intriguing piece - altogether quite austere and disturbing. I feel it meshes well with the aesthetic of Playing The Schoolhouse.
"Do you want to try that again?" ... yes, indeed. I do.
