New collaboration with Erik Honoré

Postby silentwings on Tue Sep 06, 2016 1:52 pm

The Punkt festival has been taking place this week in Kristiansand, Norway. There was to be a seminar with Manfred Eicher of the ECM label. Unfortunately, due to illness, Manfred was unable to take part and so Erik Honoré stepped in to present a recent essay he has written about David Sylvian and his connection with Punkt and Norwegian musicians.

As part of this, Erik played a recording of an unreleased collaboration with David. When asked on his Facebook page whether this would be released in the future, he said:

'.. the unreleased track I played is cleared by DS to be included on a collection of "Works & reworks" that Jan Bang and I have on our "to do-list" ...'

I've enjoyed David's collaborations with Bang/Honore/Endreson/Aarset and will certainly look forward to this new release also.

Thanks. I hope Erik and Jan's "to do list" is short. :D

I wonder what's on David's "to-do" list these days, music releasing wise, these days.
