I just noticed that back on 31 October Joan tweeted that the Duets record was 'on hold' due to 'health issues'.

I hope this still sees the light of day sometime.

On a Joan as Police Woman online forum, a post was made on 28 December - in response to a query about progress on the Duets album - by a contributor called Magpies (to whom thanks!):

"I just talked to her [Joan] last week in NYC (she was at the same Sufjan Steven show as I was), and said it will be finished within half a year or so!

Hopefully there is a tour after the release, but Joan said David is not really much into touring."

Sounds more promising than the October comment of the project being 'on hold'.

Joan tweeted today, in response to a question about the project, that it is "on hold indefinitely".

Perhaps there is some hope of some material appearing, as she finishes "whenever I've any news, I will let u know"...

thanks. the hold was due to DS's back trouble, as she says here:

Joan's new album is out. Anybody know if any of the songs she was working on with David is on it?

I don't think so. There was a long interview with her in a national newspaper yesterday and there was no mentioning of any of those songs. And besides that, the album is supposed to be soulful, away from depression ect., so maybe a song with David would be too dark. :?

I've come across a few reviews taken from papers and magazines, and David Sylvian is never mentioned, and never appears in the list of artists Joan has worked with. Quite weird. Is there a press ban on DS?

The excellent davidsylvian.net asked a rhetorical question in a tweet about whether the 'duets' project between David and Joan Wasser was "definitely over".

Joan tweeted her response: "Nope. Still in the works."
