The First Day

Sakamoto, Fripp, Czukay et al.

I was pretty excited about the album when it came out, as I was a huge Fripp fan once upon a time. I am still very fond of him, but I find the particular direction the Fripp/Sylvian project had sounds very dated to me now, very kind of 80s. And this is really in contrast to how I see Sylvian's solo output. I find most of his solo work to have a very timeless quality to it.

But the album has amazing presence, it just sounds incredible. I love Darshan, and the groove ending to Firepower. There is some really great psychedelia here.

Hi Camphorvan!
I didn't suggest that aggression was predominantly male in character, altho a lot of men do seem to suffer from it! As for your mates wife - tell him to put some bromide in her coffee that might sort her out! Ha! Ha! (Or make her listen to Blemish repeatedly until she gets the message!).

Peace ...
Astronaut.

Presumably he is now a posthumous mate? Dear oh dear! Nice woman! Ha! Ha! Well if he's still in the land of the living he could try Hyocine. It worked for Dr Crippen ...

It worries me...ever so slightly...that you know this...how dark and scary of you....almost reminds me of my mates wife....etc etc.

Funny how you end up back at the same place you started from so often eh?
