Based on all yr input I decided I just *had* to have the Fripp version of Damage and found one of eBay for GBP 25/EUR 37,30/USD 50 which was about what I was prepared to pay - looking forward to it

someone in the Uk is trying to flog it for GBP 60/EUR 90/USD 120 if anyone is prepared to pay that amount!

I do have the same version as John does (basing on the pics). Most probably it is a bootleg (got it from a Russian seller after all), but it plays well and was dead cheap, so I am happy with it

just received my copy of the 'original' Damage (Fripp moz, the 24 ct gold with booklet etc)

I must say I am totally overwhelmed. I only ever had the studio album and saw the show in Amsterdam on that tour - all of this of course many moons ago.

The studio album disappeared when my whole CD collection was stolen in a burglary - by then some 120 items) and I never replaced The First Day

but this is something else, really awesome, especially Wave and The First Day!

not going to bed any time soon!

PS: WAVE is so much more powerful in a more stripped approach here then on GTE where the piece is too , dunno, cluttered and it distracts from the sheer beauty of the top line and guitar/vox

Yep Eric, I do also prefer the Damage versions than the GTE. Great that you got it! (and darn about being robbed )
