Thank you. I had never seen this one, only the live video. It's so funny!
Do you know who directed it?

I love the dancing, (although I will always prefer Mr Sylvian's attempts over Mr Jansen's). In saying that though, Steve does seem to dance like my father, so it is kinda cute!!

:D

You may all have seen this already, but I just came across it by accident. A live version of Stay Close.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBYGwDtZhCU

Things to look out for:

Steve's sparkly jacket with enormous shoulder pads
His ponytail!
The bits where he lamely punches the air (bless...)
A couple of Sylvian-esque eyebrow moves

Sadly the dancing is much less groovy than in the video and there is a saxphone solo that goes on for days.....

I don't think I've Steve singing live, quite as clearly as this before - but it's SO 1986!

Yes, and it's also soooo funny!

1. My goodness I dont think I've ever seen shoulder pads that wide before (except on David Byrne but his were exaggerated for a laugh, or he might say, for artisitc reasons) but in Steve's defence it looks like at least one other member of the band had to wear exactly the same outfit, so maybe he wasn't given any choice (we can but hope ...)
2. Hmmm, not sure about that - looks OK to me tho'
3. Yes, that is really lame!
4. It's those family genes at work again, sometimes Steves' mannerisms are so close to Davids' its spooky, really ... ;-)

Thanks for posting!

PS Thanks to Sylvie for posting the first clip - that was so hilarious - I almost cried laughing!

Well, apparently, and I'm not even gonna suggest there's any truth in this whatsoever, but, men who can't dance are not (supposed) to be very good at other activities that require a certain, erm, rhythm ... However, this cannot possibly be true of our Steve ... I always thought his rhythm section quite divine ;-) !!!
