Can someone shine some light on what I can expect on the album "Ego" from Hiroshi Mikami?
It features Steve and Richard on most of the tracks, while Masami Tsuchiya wrote a lot of songs and played guitar on them too.
Thanks!

Looks like no one has this album (or everybody who has, has forgotten how it sounded  ).
So: I ordered a copy from Discogs and I must say this is a fine addition to my collection.
Masami Tsuchiya wrote most of the songs and played on most of them too. Richard and Steve are on a lot of tracks too and especially Richard's keyboard-sounds often have a Japan-like touch. And I have to admit that I often thought of Mick when I heard Danny Thompson's double bass.
Mikami sounds like a Japanese version of Andrea Chimenti at times.
All in all a nice pop-rock album, which features also Marc Ribot, Dougie Bowne and Roger Beaujolais (to name a few).

I found a track on YT. "With you". About 50 seconds it the video glitched sending it into a couple of seconds of very off key sizzle and I thought this is very cool. Tried it again and it sounded much too smooth for me. I can see the appeal, but sounds dated.

I think you mean "Yume With You" (the first word was a Japanese character)? That's a track from another album by Mikami, called "Arc" from 1993 (which is not (yet?) listed on discogs.

Here's the link to the YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2dgiKw ... eNyIjIX8sD

Don't know who's playing on this one, but it indeed sounds a bit smoother than the music on "Ego" (which is from 1995).

According to https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/hiro ... /278742768 Mikami made three albums before "Arc".
