Good call. Personally I love The Blue Nile ( sadly disbanded for the moment ).

Poeme is very classical with Maia Vidal's beautiful spoken word :)

The postcard reached the end of its journey: my PO-box! Wonderful and very special!

Hooray. All happy customers it seems :)

I have been listening a lot to this one on my walks ( along with some Eyeless In Gaza and Hector Zazou ) and it really is a sonic treat. I will keep an eye on Mr Aceto and BTF, to see if more music will be released :)

"Rust Red September" is my favourite (in fact, I only have that one (LP/CD) and "Drumming The Beating Heart" (LP).

Red Rust September is a classic. The expanded version has a track called " Tell " which is just beautiful :)

So much great music out there !

Quiet Visitor wrote:Listened to the album today again and I noticed thinking of The Blue Nile and Paul Buchanan a couple of times, especially those slow singing-parts.

Indeed, the album has many different moments. There are even some classical-like piece.

Sometimes I also hear Jansen and Barbieri-like music. Metropol has that same instrumental atmosphere as music from their albums.

I concur. The atmospheric material more so. There is something really interesting about Robby and Paul's piano playing. The way they play together and apart is really interesting. The way they weave them seamlessly together is really beautiful.

I might grab it out and have a listen right now :) I also have David Torn's new one " Only Sky " on rotation as well !

I hesitate if I should buy the new Torn. "Presence" was a bit too noisy for me, too less cloud-guitar, if you know what I mean.

" Only Sky " has some ambient moments, alongside the more angular ( noisy ) pieces. I am really enjoying it :D

A couple of tracks from the album will be played tonight in a local radio-program I run with a couple of friends. You can listen to it tonight through http://xymphonia.aafm.nl/latest.html ("Listen to AAFM") or this whole coming week ("Uitzending gemist").

Received it today too! It's indeed a beauty, although I also like the somewhat scary sounds in this ambient setting.

B.t.w. the liner notes mention Mick Karn in the "Love, Respect and Thank You"-section. The original album was released a few months after he passed away.
