New album Masami Tsuchiya

Postby Quiet Visitor on Sat Nov 09, 2013 10:39 am

Masami Tsuchiya recently released a new album, called Swan Dive. It's a mini-album including a DVD. The samples show Tsuchiya's eclectic style: mysterious and hard rocking songs on one disk.

After releasing this album Masami formed a new band with two musicians who are also on this disk. The new band is called KA.F.KA.

I ordered the KA.F.KA-CD directly from the band and received it quite quickly.

Like Tsuchiya's "Swan Dive" "Fantôme Noir" is a mini-album with almost 30 minutes music, divided in 6 songs.
The music is somewhat harder than we are used to of Tsychiya and there are plenty of guitar-trickery moments he's known for.
The voice of Issay is strong and powerful, while the rest of the musicians play with great drive.

In a post on Mick's forum the news was presented of a new compilation box with the first five solo-albums by Tsuchiya.
It is called Solo Vox - Epic Years

Lovely boxset. I'm glad I dared to order such an expensive item from Japan, but all went perfect (no taxes!).
Although I have a couple of Masami's albums and two compilation-CD's, this is a great addition.
The only CD I'm missing is Mod'Fish.

For those who love atmospheres created in the ballads of Japan and its members might know Tsuchiya's flexi-EP Alone. This hard to get item was added to Rice Music, the first CD in this boxset.

A short remark: the flexi-EP Alone I mentioned was also added to Ippu Do's Night Mirage as that wonderful album (featuring Steve and Richard) was presented in the box-set Magic Vox

By the way, I also scored Mod' Fish, a very nice mini-album from Tsuchiya, featuring Mick in on track (Sea Monster) and John Giblin in a couple of others.

The nice thing about Tsuchiya's Solo Vox is of course that it features David on the track Perfect Days from Life In Mirrors, which also has Mick on a couple of songs.
