Dumb Fan Question - but I'd like to know

Postby Slope on Sun May 11, 2008 11:49 am

...how tall are the guys?

Yeah, I'm almost embarrassed to ask - but I've wondered for years!! :D

Thanks in advance!

Off the top of my head (no pun intended) David is 5'8'' and Richard is the tallest at 5'10''.

I actually think I contributed to Bamboo fanzine on this topic as part of the 'Did You Know' feature, but I'm slightly too lazy atm to go and check out how tall Steve and Mick are...

...if no one else knows I will research tomorrow!!!

I'm awful calculating these things, but they are all taller than I am  (well, except Mick, because never seen him in person)

I don't have my handy-dandy Japanese Japan book to take a look, but the last time I took a look....

Steve - 5'8''
David - 5'8''
Mick - 5'7''
Richard - 5'9''

At least this was the case back in 1978!

Since they're getting on a bit age-wise they'll have shrunk since then I think? I know I've shrunk from my early twenties' 6'3.5" to just under 6'3" now at 34.

Very cheeky, Adrian

Maybe because you are so tall you have more height to shrink!

I'm just under 5'6'' but the world and his wife is convinced I am actually taller... maybe I've not stopped growing at 37...?

I get the same thing - I'm 5'4" but everyone thinks I'm much taller. With me, I think it's because I've been this tall since I was about 10, so I grew up thinking of myself as exceptionally tall and so walk like a tall person.

Going back to the band - they're a bit short, aren't they? No offence intended.

I'm Dutch - the last couple of years I keep seeing girls that are younger and taller than me. What do we put in our beef I wonder... :-)

The average British male is 5'8" so that means that - in height at least - David and Steve are distinctly average!

Richard and Mick, are, of course, not your average British male (in terms of ethnicity I mean) which makes them special

Maybe we could agree to use the metric system for future posts, since it makes more sense? :)

Ah, Sylvie... if only we knew how to measure our height metrically!

If Sisterlondon could tell us how tall she is, we just have to work out the average height of a head, because there is photographic evidence that Richard is a head taller than she is! :D

Hi Mel!
What they lack in stature they more than compensate for with talent. Nuff said ...

Richard and Mick, are, of course, not your average British male (in terms of ethnicity I mean) which makes them special
Well said Natasha! Very, very special .. not that we're biased or anything ...

Well, I am around 1.59m, so I'm small, specially if you compare with Dutch people (that's the hard reality after two PT gigs in Amsterdam  )

The guys are:

Steve - 5'8'' = 1.72m
David - 5'8'' = 1.72m
Mick - 5'7'' ' = 1.70m
Richard - 5'9'' = 1.75m
