Talk about anything David Sylvian related.

Nicola Alesini - Sylvian project

Postby silentwings on Mon Mar 23, 2015 5:15 pm

I noticed from Nicola Alesini's facebook page that there is a live performance of his Sylvian project at the Cross Roads live club in Rome on 17 April 2015. He is performing with a full band. You may have seen his versions of 'Nostalgia' and 'The Golden Way' on youtube.

Of course, 'The Golden Way' was one of three tracks featuring David on the Marco Polo album by Alesini & Andreoni. I've been re-listening to the Marco Polo II album recently, which features Steve Jansen, Richard Barbieri, Harold Budd, David Torn and others.

I understand that Alesini has been instrumental in the Italian edition of the Sylvian biography, 'On the Periphery'.

Are any of our community in Italy thinking of attending the performance?

Hadn't heard (t)his version of Riverman yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHEE0OTO2go

I believe the guitarist also works with Stefano Panunzi.

Wow, this is absolutely beautiful...really hope the 3 tracks aren't just a one-off.
