Oh my word, have you seen the new scary bear photo header on the top the Manafon samples page! :smt107 It nearly made me jump out of my skin! It's got REALLY scary eyes! I'm sure there used to be the picture of the beautiful bambi deer here before...and now a scary bear!...running to hide!

"Is it a bear, is it a wolf"...?! It could be I wolf I suppose but I thought they had pointier ears and were more streamlined physically...this creatures eyes look a bit too round and close together for a wolf...We need to move that tree out the way to see if it's got a tail! Whatever it is it's got bloody scary eyes!

It's a bit weird - sometimes it's there sometimes it's not! Spooky! Normally it's on the editions page of Sylvian's new site...

Haha Just taken a closer look - gosh it's so frightening! It's eyes are still more wolf-like to me... and wolves can have rounded ears... but you're right, the body doesn't quite fit... unless it's a weird angle. It looks like it could be a mixture of all three - a bearboarwolf!!

I've only just realised the thing at the bottom of its face may actually be a nose - which would make it look more bear/boar like. Did anyone else see it as teeth to begin with?? Teeth that curve up into a sinister grin on the left hand side... :(

I keep refreshing the page now! :-) I love this forest artwork - I wonder if it's original photographs or if it's Photoshopped.

Oh that is a great image - a bearboarwolf! Hilarious  Very apt - I didn't see the teeth thing going on - I'll have to look again - I just saw a nose... but the teeth image is very macabre! :D

I'm still convinced it's a black bear...I'm beginning to think this might be an ingenious joke that has cleverly been programmed into the website design - sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not - for extra shock value - when it does pop up and you come face to face with those scary eyes it really makes you jump!...

I keep hearing that children's nursery rhyme running through my mind:

"If you go down in the woods today,
You're sure of a big surprise.

If you go down in the woods today,
You'd better go in disguise."...

"Beneath the trees where nobody sees
They'll hide and seek as long as they please"
...etc etc

Except this ain't no teddy bear!

"If you go down in the woods today,
You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely down in the woods today,
But safer to stay at home"....

And Manafon is certainly no 'safe teddy bear's picnic'' for children...there's something sinister and dangerous lurking there down in them there Manafon woods! If this a deliberate pun and not just a website glitch then 10/10 for inventiveness! :D

The beast can be seen on the Everything & Nothing page on the Manafon site as well. It's smaller, so you can see its legs, and they're too thing to be a bear's... I'd say it's a wolf.
Here he is:
