New Ingrid Chavez video

Has anyone seen Ingrid's new video - 'By the water'...from her new album... strangely enough it's not on her website - but it's on Saffron Woods Myspace site - almost hidden in his blogs under 'By the Water video'...very wierd! Nicely shot video but the music is SO commercial - that was a bit of a shock and Chavez spends her whole time posturing a la Janet Jackson!

i wasn't able to hear the interview... it wouldn't work on my computer.
I did however really enjoy the video... however i wanted a bit more depth to it. It was lovely though none the less.

The music is okay but the video... oh dear.
She looks like a twenty something in 90s cliché poppy video: some scenery, grinning, running, head banging...
I'm sorry.
I'm glad she's not with David anymore.
I am new here :"> And I can't speak English very well.

Is strange. The other day I was in that kind of mood where I have to find a specific music track to listen to - for ages I couldn't think what it was - then suddenly it came to me - it was Ingrid's 'By The Water.' And every time I listen to it now I like it more and more and I am quite keen to hear her new album, despite being not all that impressed with it from the samples a couple of months ago. Her early work isn't my cup of tea at all but I think she has probably learnt a heck of a lot since then, has done a lot too, and is finally reaching for some kind of artistic potential. She seems to have developed in a different way to David in that it's taken her a while to get where she really wants to be. David, it seems, is always pretty much 'where he wants to be' with an album at the time - he seems to be able to find that place, or know what that place is, very quickly, even if it takes longer to interpret it into a musical format. But then he quickly moves on from that location and dreams of being somewhere else - almost like shapeshifting. Whereas Ingrid seems to be more like a blur trying to find its edges. I guess maybe its easy for one to feel overwhelmed by the other. Or maybe I am wrong (but even so, is a nice thought, no?) I think I would find Ingrid easier to talk to than David...but David easier to listen to.

Heh there's my random pondering for today! :-)
