I guess all Sylvian fans need a copy of Preparations for a Journney,
to understand who David really is, and who he was at the time.
and Perspectives is needed next to it. (I prefer the normal edition).
what I would have liked is a dvd copy of a concert from the In Praise of Shamans Tour 1988, wish they would have released a official version from any of the shows...

Bern... on my Original Zazou album David is singing on 4 tracks, playing the guitar on a fifth and co-wrote a sixth.

Chet, you have the original album which is rare as it was withdrawn on the day of its release at Virgin's insistence and then rereleased minus two vocal tracks Victim Of Stars and To a Reason

Probably the only "rare" one I have is my Weatherbox, signed by David and Steve.

i don't really have anything particularly rare. I mean you can still find perspectives... yes its expensive but many photographic out of print books go for quite large amounts of money... as i'm sure other art books do the same.

I wish i had the japanese version of the perspectives book. Now that would be a treasure.

I guess I would now add the "Eighty Days" book. To be honest, I didn't know it was that rare. Anyone else have it?

sure. love it, in it's simplicity.
it's a nice read, really...
but not that rare is it?

Back in the late 90s, a fellow subscriber to the davidsylvian mailing list posted that s/he wrote a letter to David commenting, among other things, that s/he liked the shirt David wore in the Pulling Punches video (the grey and black number with the eyes all over it), and a few weeks later that same person received a package in the mail that contained the very shirt. That sounds like quite the rare item.

Hey, unknown fan...are you reading this...if so, give us some more info...
