Talk about anything David Sylvian related.

If the JapanSylvian team unites, then we can persuade him to serenade us!

I like this idea! I for one have already put in one request @MySpace (actually three if you count my two comments on their page there) and apparently my message was read by somebody. But I am willing to keep asking if it will help get the desired results! :)

I would love to see Sylvian with all of you fabulous people! I can't think of anything more festive than a hallful of everyone here, listening and gazing in rapt ecstasy and admiration as David serenades us, can you? (Of course, with my luck, I will promptly swoon as soon as he walks onstage and have to be carted out on a stretcher, thus missing the entire concert, LOL. But I'll happily risk such an indignity. :-) )

This is really disappointing. What exactly happened when he toured the US, in 02'? What venues was he playing? This seems to be the problem to me. There is more of a market for a Sylvian tour in Europe. I just don't think there is any market for it here, well there IS a market but I guess it's not worth going on a tour for.

I agree S&A, that might be a good idea to start a petition or something to come to the US. And he didn't really rule it out completely, he just said it's unlikely.

Did I mention this is LAME!?

Sorry to be in late...
So sad for american people : but don't lose faith... maybe later he'll annonce shows ? who knows ?

So you must know : I go to PARIS to see David!!!
I'm so happy... I can't believe it..
TO SEE DAVID SYLVIAN LIVE...
I never could believe it could be happen...

So for once : it's Europe because with DURAN DURAN they made more shows in USA : I go in New-York to see them because I don't believe we'll have some shows in Europe and I don't want to miss it...
Only festivals : and we know that in festival they aren't singing many songs like a full show...

So sorry I'm talking so much today!!!
I'm so happy for good new...

Yes, and I agree that it is very, very lame. It's true that there is a bigger market overseas for Sylvian than here, but I still say that if he came to Toronto, NYC and San Francisco, say, that these shows would be sell-outs for him. I realize touring must be extremely expensive, but it seems to me that interest in him and his music Stateside has been growing and I think it would be a mistake to not try to cash in here, so to speak.

I think a petition would be a good idea. Perhaps if they see just how much of a demand there truly is for US Sylvian dates, they will reconsider? I'd like to think I am just being pessimistic and overreacting to Richard Chadwick's words. I would love it, in fact. :-)

Have a fabulous time at the concert...seeing Sylvian in Paris should be gorgeous!

I didn't realize DD didn't do that many non-festival shows in Europe? You sound like me, though, planning to fly to Manchester to see David the way you flew to NYC to see Duran. I'm glad I'm not the only person who will go to such extremes for a concert! :)

And thanks for the good luck wishes, we may well need it.

Even if they were sell outs in the USA, I remember him saying that it just wasn't financially viable for some reason or another. I wouldn't be suprised if the US doesn't feature ont eh tour schedule.

On a happier note, if anyone is stuck for a place to stay near London, let me know. As soon as the festival hall tickets become available, I'm on the phone!

I saw him do the blemish tour there in i think 03.

I wonder what this tour is in support of, or whether it's a tour in support of anything at all....hmmmm....curiouser and curiouser....

I just heard that tickets for Manchester are going on sale 10AM this Friday (I already alerted my friend there, he is going to be right on it) so I would check the websites of the London Royal Festival Hall and the others you are interested in. I don't know anything re: the London venue, does anyone else? It sounds as if it would be seated, but I guess you can't always go by names alone, can you?

So sorry to hear about the passing of your grandfather, Isa. :(

I do think that's great your dad is a fellow PT fan! And please, no worries re: the email, look how long it always takes me to write, yes?! I like hearing from you whenever. :-)

Thanks hon (also for your condolences. It happened in Novermber but we are still dealing with it).

Darn, what's the site for the Manchester tickets? Because the Royal Festival Hall doesn't even post that David is playing there! I am lost and can't find any info anywhere (any news on the yahoo group? I am not a member and can't read it).

So I guess I have to decide fast where I am going... Are the rest of the dates on sale soon too? (Paris and Brussels for example?)

*sorry for asking so much*

BTW, irrelevant to the topic, but I posted a comment on your pic with the legendary Robin Crosby.

Oh Isa, what an incredible birthday present that would be! You have to go!

Maybe you could go to Manchester as well? It would be so great to meet you if possible if I am able to attend that one too :)

I'm starting to ponder options, fear me, LOL! :-D

I am as well. Waiting to hear what Moody comes back with, but I know I'll have tickets - it's just a matter of $$ for the flight over. :D Isa, we could be a verrrrrry dangerous pair. Now - how do we get Matt and Kera over??? If *I* Can go - you ALLLLLL can go, trust me!

YAY!!!

I still can't believe it!! Congrats to all of you who already got the tickets!!
I would love to go to London, but I was just planning to go to Italy in the same dates he's going to play there! For the moment, my best option is Reggio. It's the closets city to Florence, but the tickets aren't on sale yet.
Though, I'm still waiting for more dates. Maybe we're lucky and he comes to Spain ( Can you imagin it Isa??).

Dear American friends, don't lose your hope!! Everything is possible!! and if it's not...well, a nice holydays in Europe with your fellow Sylvian fans (and David himself) can't be that bad, eh??

By now I have my parents more or less convinced to come to London with me and my mom wants to come to see David (dad says he's boring and will wait at a pub, LOL!) It would be so awesome if you Kera and Matt could come! :D Partay!

You know it, sister! And flights went down from yesterday by $7. It's not a lot, but if it keeps going in that direction.... I should be able to afford it by August! LOL

So, I have mine already, row R that might be awfully away, but I'm going damnit! :D They have sold a lot already!

I got my ticket for Glasgow this morning. According to Ticketmaster it is Front Arena Row A!! Won't believe it until I'm there though...

I am so excited...I feel like a 17 year old again ( no mean feat - believe me!)

I feel really bad for everyone in the US. I hope your time will come. If it's any small consolation youtube should be full of new material soon :)
I found the way, by the sound of your voice.
