Yes, it was great. That's one of my enduring memories, too, especially as it was obvious he was trying hard not to laugh. but it was in response to "Hello, David!" ("I love you" came later)

I do believe he loves the italian crowds :-) Looks like he's starting to have some fun :-)

Now if he would just stop taking the photos for the official site and allow someone to get some photos OF him! LOL

Eindhoven show

Postby triskadekaphobia on Tue Oct 02, 2007 6:31 am

Not much to report form show yesterday. Went on stage late as support act Signe Tollgsen arrived late. She had a great voice and handled the ignorant group of 'sylvian fans' at the back who applauded when she told us she was on her final song.
Show raced through in an hour and half. Some changes to the stage lighting on a few pieces. Sound pretty good. Steve looked happy, Lowe dances round bit like he needs more attention. Hayden Chisholm filled in for T Travis. Some guy in Row 3 was filming the whole show which David picked up on and ignored. Think I'll wait for a JP TV special like last time. Brussels remains the best show of the tour so far.
Amsterdam show is tonight.

Krausy

I know what you mean about the smiles. I was blessed with a front row seat when I saw him and I have to say, it is my enduring memory of the night. His quiet, modest smiles after every song as the crowd applauded, just melted my heart. When they went wild after particular songs he broke into an almost disbelieving grin and all of a sudden, I was 16 again (no mean feat, given my advancing years!).

However, Stefano did a great job in capturing classic Sylvian. I particularly like the one where he's standing fiddling with his mic, or whatever it is.

Introspective Sylvian or Smiley Sylvian....it's a tough choice :D

Amsterdam

Postby Waves on Tue Oct 02, 2007 5:58 pm

Amazing, amazing, amazing... Just got back from Amsterdam, and really enjoyed the show. I have never seen him live and so this is an extra Davids voice dimension I found. The studio music has intimacy, but this evening the music was fantastic, I could not sit still. Thank you Steve.
I have heard Brussels recording, but think this night was much better (of course the atmosphere of being there...)
What a voice!!!
My friend, not familiar with the music, had a great evening too.
I think the setlist was the same, and nothing more to say, but
Amazing, amazing, so amazed...
