what is the matter - gig cancellations

after the Moscow gig last week was cancelled (postponed to Nov 1st) tonights gig in San Sebastian has been cancelled as well

anyone know what is up ? David or anyone in the band ill?




edit: the site of the theatre mentions the following (in Spanish):

El cantante David Sylvian que debía actuar hoy viernes en el Teatro Victoria Eugenia dentro de su gira The World Is Everything, sufre una afección de garganta por lo que ha anulado su concierto en San Sebastián, tal y como hizo el miércoles en Moscú.

from which I derive DS suffers from a throat 'condition' - although it isn' t more specific than that ... hope he is better soon

Something real weird that I realised today. These are the next gigs according to David's site:

21st Oct: Lisbon, Centro Cultural Belem
23rd Oct: Braga, Teatro Circo
24th Oct: Madrid, Teatro Albeniz

And then off to Asia. But at the site of the Lisbon venue, it says that the gig was on the 18th????

you know when his schedule was released i sort of thought the dates were all crammed together and it seemed a bit much to me.

I don't think his not being the strongest of people health wise is any new thing. He's always suffered from fatigue issues... remember the big fatigue illness he suffered back in the 80s?

I think he crammed them all so close so the tour wouldn't drag on for months and months, but in the end it was just too much ... all the travelling, the performing nightly, the demands placed on him and then being exposed to all those germie people when your system clearly isn't up to it.

I am not surprised he's not well....

I do wish him well and a healthy recovery....
