Very interesting article from great music journalist - and Japan/Sylvian fan - Chris Roberts, which reflects on Japan's debut albums. It includes recent comments from Richard reflecting on their early work and older interview comments from David. Well worth a read. Hard to believe it's now all that time ago...

Thanks for sharing. 40 years. Wow.
I'm one of the early fans of Japan's music and bought Adolescent Sex early 1979, followed quickly by Obscure Alternatives. And although my main interest laid in progressive rock and jazz-rock, I loved those albums, not only because of their energy, but also because of the wonderful use of keyboards and synths. Especially tracks like Television and The Tenant are amongst my most played moments.
And indeed: I don't care what Sylvian thinks about these LP's, I love them!

Honestly, I can understand why David and (partly) Richard are not happy with the first two records, but, damn!, they're enjoyable! :D :D :D
