I had one years ago but did not consciously realize at the time that it was cut similar to his circa Tin Drum/Brilliant Trees. I just saw the style in a magazine, took it to my stylist and voila!!!


My hair is in such a state of flux right now, I have no idea what to do. Thought about just letting the salt-and-pepper grow out and accept it, or continue to color it and try to find some kind of style that works for me.

Actually, I just need a makeover, period!!!

I've got Quiet Life-esque bleaching, just not the cut. I actually need to re-do it. My hair grows back too quickly for me to keep up.

very interesting , i would luv to see your final results of your new hairstyle , i'm thinking about getting some blonde streaks to put in my hair, also to have my cut like David's during the 99' period

I have now went ahead and had this done. Originally it was gonna be minus the bleach, however i have had a change of heart and its totally like davids. Pics can be found here http://www.japansylvian.com/forum/album ... ser_id=136

The camera is poo therefore the peroxide blonde doesnt show properly, but in reality its as blonde as davids was.

Well, I have short hair and when I let it grow, the cut is very similar to David's Quiet Life era.

I remember when I discovered Japan, I had my hair colour like Rich's, blue black. I found it a very nice coincidence

Okay gang............................I decided after over twenty years of wearing my hair in a longer style, I cut it short!!!!!

It is layered all over, and actually sometimes the style looks alot like David's from the time of GTP up to Brilliant trees. I cut it in order to grow out my salt and pepper, then only realized that it was very similar to his cut----oh well, not a bad thing at all Color-wise, it probably looks alot like GTP period, since my hair on top still has my last round of blonde, and the sides is my roots of auburn/dark brown with some gray.

Perhaps I need to take a pic sometime..............

As much as i'd love to have a Sylvian-esque hairdo, i dont think my hair would agree. I dye it so much it's very very brittle....which isn't helped by the fact i do a bit of a Bananarama style every morning, flinging it in and out of wafts of hairspray.

Well, I wouldn't want any of David's hairstyle on me as I know it would not look good on me....my face is too round.
