That's a great name! Have you ever seen the 1981/82 Scottish film Gregory's Girl? (It was directed by the same guy who did Local Hero and costarred Clare Grogan of Altered Images, and is worth renting for all who have not seen it.) The name "Rikki (or Ricky) Swift" is mentioned in passing at one point. I only know this because I own the dvd and before that I had the video and have seen this movie probably a hundred times in my life so far. :-)

Actually, "Ariel Eleven" was my New Romantic name from way back when I was in three bands that never quite got out of the garage, so I thought it was worth resurrecting now.

I'm ready! Maybe we could gas up the ol' time machine and stop by London say circa '78-whenever while we are on the way. :) (Glasgow during that time period would be brilliant as well!)

Well, 1980/81 sounds good to me as well. :-) I must say it would be fun to wear some of that attire again!

The Sylvian 'do sounds good also! Many of my friends sported that style then, but I went with your basic Clare Grogan look, which eventually grew into sort of a Bananarama/Robert Smith conglomeration, ha.

It might not look totally Sylvian as im gonna leave the bleach and hair dye be as there is a family history of baldness PMSL. If it turns out well i might post some pics, if i can get a good pic.

I'm sure it will be Sylvian enough! :) Sorry to hear about the genetic tendency for baldness in your family -- the same is true for my family as well but just for the men so I got lucky there.

Kati Lapidaire

And I know it's French for "stonecutter" but it just looks so cool! I thought about changing my first name to "Kate" but there are too many as it is... and I get annoyed when people try to call me Kate, ha ha.
