whatever actually happened to the Dolphin Brothers?

I guess the album wasn't succesful enough but what was their actual life span?

I know they only did the one album (I bought it on its day of release). I remember NO1 magazine in the UK touting them as the next "Wham'(!). Asides from Face to face are there any b sides or demos knocking about?

What years did they span?

The next Wham?

Are British music journalists usually such useless pieces of shXXte?

(I say this while being tortured on an almost daily basis here in Japan (in December) by hearing "Last Christmas" every time I turn the fXcking corner.....)

Dolphin Brothers only lasted from 1987 - 1988, then went on the Sylvian tour and after that started work on the Rain Tree Crow album, which changed everything.

If you want more Dolphin Brothers type material there are various Jansen/Takahashi tracks from Yukihiro's 1980s and 1990s albums that are worth seeking out, and I always thought The Blue Nile and China Crisis had similarities.

Blue Nile I always found too MOR, Bland..China crisis..hmmm....

Dolphins were kind of like if Japan had continued somehow and bros and stock aitken and waterman hadnt come along...steve sounds so much like a little brother on the record- in a good way. But he and rich never did anything like it again. lack of budget I guess. Im suprised at how well its dated...

didn't virgin drop them? it would be nice if they would do another album together, minus the dolphin bros name. :) I never like it.

not sure if you all have this or not, but here is the bonus track that was included on the japanese version of catch the fall.

sounds like yuki doing backing vocals.
