Just thought I would throw up an idea which is that I don,t think anybody has really followed up the Japan influence since they split. I,m talking about musical influence really although of course ambient techcno and so on which has all been a bit superficial. But I wanted really to promote Broadcast as a band that whether they acknowledege or not the influence is none the less discernable in theyre work. Mybe this isn't the best example but see what you think?

Interesting, I like it. Seems more like this band and mid-career Japan share influences rather than Japan influencing this, in this case Niko/Velvet Underground.

Yes, Trish's sudden passing was a great shock. I've been a fan of this band since 2000 and own nearly all their recordings (apart from a small handful of uninteresting instrumentals and their last album, Broadcast and The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age, which failed to appeal).

Broadcast was truly a great (and severely underrated) band.
