'Ghosts' Cover Version - 2005

Most of us are familar with the Steven Dante cover from 1988 but I have recently discovered a another by Lewis Taylor. It's on his 2005 album 'Stoned', although it's not listed on the cover/mentioned in the booklet (basically a hidden track). It's very soulful yet also respectful to the original.

Someone mentioned today that it would be an idea to re-release Japans 'Ghosts' with proceeds going to the fund. It's not the worst idea I've ever heard.... it would be kinda cool if it become a hit again.

I very much doubt that could happen. Looking at the charts these past years, at the same names topping them month after month, I get the feeling real sales have nothing to do with who is in the top 10, and you only get there if the labels back you. And I don't think any label would have any interest in supporting dear old Mick. :(

If Virgin own the material it would be easy for them to re-release this again. It would help raise interest and sales of Japan and Sylvian back catalogue which could prove very profitable, despite any monies initially going to a cause. Its not unusual for labels to do this i.e Michael Jackson.

With the backing of (just say Moyles) on Radio 1, the airplay exposure could make this a monster hit. Its such a memorable song.
