Talking about the making of nine horses video - which is brilliant - i noticed that laughin' dave seemed to singing in darkness in the vocal booth; is that his normal practice does anyone know? Bit difficult in a log cabin in the Napa valley.....

I e mailed Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), and he said that "Adolescent Sex" is one of his favorite albums of all time.

OMG...Sebastian Bach...*sigh* his hair used to be sooo perfect! My heart melted a thousand times with "Youth Gone Wild".

For some reason, my level of respect for Skid Roe has heightened by alot! I agree with him on that statement though, great start-off album! Despite what David says about it...

Well, it's an old thread, but why not bump? :D

According to Bamboo fanzine, Mick used to shave the bit in between his eyebrows but then his hand slipped one day and he took a great big chunk out of one of them. "I can't go out like THIS" he thought to himself in his bassist brain, so promptly shaved the whole lot off.

Also according to Bamboo, David was rather partial to Cherry Bakewells, although whether they would fit in with his now ultra-healthy diet I don't know. (For some reason I am reminded of the Little Britain sketch about eating dust...)

Hmm, interesting ... Mick is also afraid of heights and he isn't very fond of spiders either ...

If Mr Sylvian is reading this, he may be interested to know that Tesco do some rather nice dairy-, egg- and gluten-free Cherry Bakewells as part of their Free From range....

Re David's dietary requirements: does anyone know, what exactly are they? And is it a health thing or a spiritual thing or both? (I'm not desperate to know, it's just out of passing interest)

I think he is now both vegan and teetotal, so he may still be able to eat the dairy-free Cherry Bakewells! :D

Ah, in that case, he wants to get himself down to the Grain Store in Portobello Market - they do a fantastic vegan bakewell tart.

Sounds like a plan my northern friend! Then we can pop around to his new pad and have a cuppa tea with him. Ahh! wont that be - nice!

Trivial factoid No: 6,000,000

David Sylvian left school with no qualifications whatsoever, OK, he gained ONE. An 'O' Level (GCE) in art. Surprise, surprise ... ;-)

That reason - and that reason only - was why I chose to do O level art at school.

(But subsequently I discovered I was crap at art and changed to Latin!!!)
