I think i know why Dave and Steve changed their name from Batt - at the time they were starting their 'New Career' there was a guy called Mike Batt who was known to sing with a bunch of stuffed animals (Wombles)

Perhaps appearing cool and aloof would not have been so easy given the obvious association.

It could also have been they just did not like the name!!!

Apologies to anyone outside the UK, i guess (hope) the Wombles were just confined to old blighty

yeah they were just in the UK but other networks here have aired them... so sadly we do have an idea about them.

One thing I noticed was that everyime I flipped through channels, the same "children" were on Barney for years and years. I bet they were 20 and still filming it.

I think Barney's a form of mind control. Maybe some nutter at PBS was reading too much George Orwell, and he put two and two together (which, of course, equals five :wink:

Random Japan factoid no 14573. I was reading the sleevenotes to 'Each Eye a Path' the other day and Mick says in a dedication - 'To the memory of my life with Kashmir - with undying love'.

Found out Kashmir was his cat! Aw how cute!!!
