Also, according to an article I read a little while ago, he broke his wrist in a "Skateboarding Accident" (I don't know if it was a joke or not) -Kera-

He did break it, just before the blemish tour began. There was an interview (I think in a UK paper) where the reporter asked about the cast he was wearing, and David's reply was the skateboarding comment.

On his site, you could see pics where his left hand (thumb and wrist) were wrapped with a flat stick (like a tongue depressor) tied to his thumb. Ouch!

the brother of my childhood friend has broken every one of his fingers at one time or another skateboarding. I was used to seeing those metal bands taped to his fingers all the time.

I'll tell you what's bugged me all these years...what's the story behind David and Steve choosing 'Sylvian' and 'Jansen' as second names...

the names came from The New York Dolls Sylvain Sylvain (guitarist)
and David Johansen (vocals)=just some slight ajustments to spelling
and there you go!
apparentlly when they signed to Arista is was as Davis & Steve Batt
arolia were NOT happy with the new names!!!
