Hypergraphia

Postby silentwings on Sat May 16, 2015 10:53 am

Looks like this is the name of the new book - David Sylvian 1980-2014

Some eagle eyed folks found the details on the German Amazon site, and it's listed on the French and Japanese Amazon also.

To be published by Omnibus Press on 15 August.

thanks for the post, personally i think Chad may have had a point on another thread about something in the offering ( ref: Facebook account being deleted), could this publication be linked into something else, a new album maybe or even a tour! Who knows, time will tell. Him and Mick did get a mention a few weeks back in an interview with Blur, GC talked about how Sylvian needed somewhere new to find a space to write and how much they admired Mick. I wonder did he find that space in London?

Reposting CCFC27's (a famous win for the Blues ;-) ) post from the samadhi sound thread:

firstly, we raise a martini to the great franz wright who, after a long battle with cancer, passed on May 15th. A marvelously inspirational poet and extraordinary man.
secondly, we will shortly have news of samadhisound's final release before it closes its doors for good. It's a fairly comprehensive book of lyrics, poems, and artwork, in a sense, a summation of the work that david and designer, chris bigg, have created together over the past 12 or so years. The book's title is hypergraphia. More soon...

A passion for Cardiff City and David Sylvian really takes its toll over the years. :D

the more I read about hypergraphia the more I'm excited by it. Just checked the pricing and it looks like it'll come in at around £50. Wonder if there will more than one edition of it or it'll just be the standard hardback - looking forward to seeing the essays and other writings by Sylvian we haven't seen before.

Phew, a bit on the steep side... it had better be lavish for sixty-five notes :D

Still, I've spent more on DS stuff before... par for the course, being a DS fan.

Trouble is with expensive stuff is I'm a bit reluctant to handle them too much... I've only had Abandon/Hope out of the slipcase once since buying it, and handle my other stuff like precious objects

Very much looking forward to this - really like the look of the cover. Can't quite believe the page count, given that most of David's published stuff has tended to be of the slim, poetry-book style. Hopefully will be a well-thumbed volume, rather than the look at once-or-twice artefact.

Quite an exciting few months ahead with this, Anthony's book and the new CD.

Ordered this book from a local bookstore. I often try to support these stores, because they are more fun to shop in than visiting the amazons (the sites I mean  ).

There's a great photo of Chris Bigg's proofing the book on Samadhi's facebook page:
