New book of David's work

Postby silentwings on Tue Mar 19, 2013 5:16 pm

The excellent davidsylvian.net tweeted about this new comprehensive book referred to in a very interesting interview with Chris Bigg on allaboutjazz:

"New 400-page book by #davidsylvian with complete lyrics, poems and written essays almost done! Artwork by Chris Bigg".

I am an admirer of Chris' contribution to samadhisound releases, this sounds like a must have purchase!

I just got an email from Chris Bigg - looks like it'll be released in September (how appropriate!)

Given the high quality of David's printed material this should be a fantastic release! Reminds me of the recent publication of James Marsh's work with Talk Talk - that was another great retrospective.

Noticed that Mr Simon Purdon - often of this parish - has had a direct response from David about this book on facebook. David said that the book was "on it's way, slow but surely".

Although you can never be sure that it is David himself answering the posts I think it is great that there does appear to be a more immediate and direct level of communication from him to his fans now... Perhaps not as direct as other artists but it does feel much closer than in previous years.
