A busy night rehearsing with David Sylvian. It wasn’t clear whether this was a formal undertaking with a view to performance; or whether, if it were, that I had the job. Perhaps this was an informal exchange of ideas?

if you read the previous diary entry (esp. the evening bit) and then re-read how the description of the S/F meeting is formulated, I think it's fair to say he's relating a dream he's had on New Year's Eve (which he spent asleep).
