Is this album any good? Considering i dont like minimalistic electronic music, hence i didnt get the original Blemish.

Hey japanfan,

Asking if TGSvTOD is any good is like asking if Blemish is "good". Hard to say really. Perhaps I can help you by venturing to say that if you have ever bought a single or album, loved it and heard the dub mix of it, and liked it more, than you will most likely like TGSvTOD, perhaps even love it after a few listens (if you did love Blemish). But you didn't, so you won't like the remixes... :(

IMNHO, the remixes are interesting, nay, very interesting and worth having if one thinks that Blemish was a right step in the evolution of DS the artist. It will always be an tangental collection, never a "proper" album (not that DS ever intended it to be). Burnt's contributions here aside, it does in retrospect seem a pointer to the Nine Horses sound, esp. the new EP.

If you want to get one track as a sample, I'd vote for "Blemish" (Remixed By Akira Rabelais). It is arguably the least 'electro'. I'd easily imagine David presenting it live like this (with an small orchestra).

Hope this helps. -David in Texas

I agree. I know someone who didn't really like "Blemish" but they loved "The Good Son..." They remixes are very well done and a lot easier to listen to to most people than "Blemish" ... The best remixes on there are "The Heart Knows Better", "Fire In The Forest", and "Late Night Shopping"

... So yes, I really do reccomend this album!
