I love the cover of Brilliant Trees.

But that album means everything to me anyway.
It is the most beautiful thing my ears have ever heard.

i can't actually believe that nobody mentioned Tin Drum. i don't have a vinyl player, but i'm getting that vinyl just to hang it on my wall, becus it has to be one of the most beautiful covers that have ever been done! the without-glasses version is great just as the original more common one (right?). so yeah Tin Drum.

and if i had to chose the artwork of a solo work it'd be Brilliant Trees, probably. i love the pictures of David sitting in a crater or something from the booklet. and i believe i haven't seen many single artwork, but give me time!

Quiet Life is my favorite cover ever, so I'll pick that. The back cover and especially the inside sleeve are great as well. Rich, Rob and Steve look unbearably cool in blue! :)

I have to say I really like all Samadhi Sound artwork...
And I would also like to ask: am I the only one who notices that the instrumental stuff gets a 'harsher' cover most of the time? For instance E&N versus Camphor; or DBoaC versus Approaching Silence?

I haven't been wowed by the Samadhisound artwork, but my favorite cover of the albums is DBOAC. Always loved it. Poloroids is one of my favorite album covers of all time from anyone, so that is a given.

I think E&N has probably the nicest packaging for anything Sylvian has done. It is warm, inviting, thoughtful, evocative. It is a good visual example of the idea he has stated in interviews when he declines interpreting his own work or lyrics. The listener or viewer should take their own meanings from the work.

Oh I have to disagree. The work Chris Bigg has done for the Samadhi releases has been beautiful. I think he's really given the label a visual identity.

yes the tour book is lovely inside and out.
I agree too that Chris Biggs has given Samadhisound a very distinct visual i.d.
I would like to see something a bit different now though. I think you can overuse an artist and then their art tends to become a bit meaningless.

I think that Vaughan Oliver of V23 and the work that he has done for 4AD suggests this is not the case
