Very Interesting interview with david on BBC Radio 3's Late Junction.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006tp52

Just go to the bottom of the page!

I'm not sure if this has been broadcast yet or is a web only exclusive.
It cuts of at the end suggesting there maybe more!!

Great stuff....thanks for posting....highly recommended...and in relation to the thread about his state of mind, he sounds (as always) quite cheery...full of good humour...he says Rabbit Skinner is a self-portrait but the way he says that is infinitely reassuring....

Good interview. Thanks for the link and download.

He's cleared up why the vocal is so prominent in the mix: 'a physical presence in the room'. I'd say he's achieved that.

Would love to hear this but the link is dead due to Rapidshare's ridiculous download limitation:

This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times.

This limit is reached.

To download this file, the uploader either needs to transfer this file into his/her Collector's Account, or upload the file again. The file can later be moved to a Collector's Account. The uploader just needs to click the delete link of the file to get further information.

Could someone please re-upload, or preferably use a different fileshare site?

http://www.megaupload.com is probably the best - unlimited downloads and no waiting time.

Thank you so much for the upload! I find it hard to describe my thoughts - he is such a pleasure to listen to - you can hear he is always thinking. His voice is a bit like how he describes lyrics - on one level there are the words he is saying and on another level there is the sound of his voice, both creating varying effects on my mind if I choose to listen to one or the other, but probably most impressive when they are both heard together...

I liked the way the interviewer really allowed David to open up - she sounded almost as calm as he was - at one point I thought I was listening to a therapy session! It sounded like she had listened to the album quite recently and was genuinely interested in what David had to say. As a listener, I much prefer these types of 'conversation-like' interviews, allowing the interviewee to divulge or digress as much as they want, rather than a quick, restrictive Q & A.

From every interview, I have new thoughts and realisations about Manafon. I feel like I have been on a short part of the journey already and I haven't even heard the album yet!! But it feels like scouting around the reward in order to know, whether entirely or partly, what it is I am going to find there. I feel quite cautious about approaching Manafon with the right mindset because I really want to enjoy and appreciate it. David has put so much into it...so many twists, pulses, aches, reflections, opposites, internals, and personalities...all so indirectly - like hidden behind the concepts of improvisation, RS Thomas, the poet, the recluse and their stories... Again, I can't describe it but this is making a deep part of my mind so very excited! :-)
