Sime, did they give you any sort of tracking number?

I think blaming the postal strikes may be giving Samahdi a little too much slack - I've received items from New Zealand, Argentina and Europe in the last week or so, all sent within a week of sending.

Hi Phil

I emailed samadhisound towards the end of last week and copied opium arts into it. It was sent by UPS. The lady who emailed me from the samadhi shop people said they dont have tracking numbers for the items which is bloody ridiculous. I'm going to see if it arrives today and if nothing appears I'm asking for a refund. Its diabolical .

What may have happened is that the item was pulled for a customs check. In which case it's unlikely to be received within three weeks. Although samadhi seem to have labelled these as worth $20, the size alone may have flagged it. In which case it will more than likely sit in customs for a few weeks before someone takes another glance at the $20 tag and just passes it on through.

I'd still expect your copy to turn up, as frustrating as all this must be.

I ordered my copy on 0902, order number 1363, it was shipped on 0921 and arrived in berlin on 0930.

I should add, I am more than happy with the ltd edition and the prize is okay as well, imho!

Still waiting here in the North East of England too. Posted 10th Sept.

I'm hoping it's just the postal strikes holding things up.

I'd agree with that theory, HG, if I didn't work in logistics and transportation and know better.

Customs (even the worst offenders, like India and Russia) will rarely, if ever, hang onto something for weeks, especially something as innocuous as an album. They have bigger fish to fry and don't have the time to toss about ensuring that they charge Sylvian fans an extra £5 import duty. They either have a quick guess and slap an abitrary levy on the item or simply ignore it completely.

I think what might be closer to the truth (and the order numbers of those copies already received should be ignored as evidence of anything), is that Samahdi waited to see what the uptake was for the limited edition before printing the number of editions they said they'd release.

In these days and in their shoes, I'd have waited as well, before ploughing production expense into something I wasn't completely confident of getting a pretty rapid return on.

Awesome.

16th of August - made the order for the deluxe edition (order number 585)
10th of September - asked if my order was fine since so many here had received the "your order has been shipped" email
15th of September - Samadhi replied that my order was fine and would be shipped soon
1st of October - emailed them again since nothing had happened
6th of October - received an email telling me there was something wrong with my original order and that they would ship my order free of shipping costs shortly

they refused my prayers for the umpteenth time...

HMV now state that although the item is still technically on order, they DO NOT expect to receive any at any point.

Looks like Samadhi have offered these retailers X amount of copies but haven't kept their side of the bargain. Very shoddy.

Really really happy for you.
So, who's left waiting for their Samadhi order to come home? Sonic, Qdes and me?

Came home today to find: a) Manafon deluxe edition; b) Mick Karn's autobiography.
I was so happy I wet myself and had to have a bath.
