Sylvian Virgin Remasters: worth it?

Postby barryinstockholm on Fri Aug 21, 2009 4:21 pm

I am wondering what members think of the 2006 remastered Sylvian albums.

Specifically, is the sound so much improved to warrant rebuying cds you already own?

I know about bonus track issues (both pro and con), so that would not be a factor.

I bought the Japan reissues and thought the sound was improved, but only about 10-15% better...that is more defined bass, slightly brighter and cleaner.

Are the Sylvian cds worth buying for improved sound alone?

Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

well... I don't know about better sound - I guess so. And apart from a mistake in the packaging which I won't go into here since it's probably only me who thinks so, they are really nice to have. I bought them and sold my Weatherbox.
I also bought the remastered Japan discs in the same series, which were the first Japan I heard (apart from the odd track Sylvian released/performed)
