Snow White in Appalachia

...is breathtakingly beautiful. Yes its full of plinky plonky sounds in the backgrounds but when John Tilbury's piano appears its an incredible moment.

I was all ready to hate Manafon. I still dont listen to Blemish apart from Fire In the Forest. given that David suggested that this record would further challenge/alientate the fans I was ready to give up on him. However, i downloaded Appalachia tonight (thanks for the link Paul Rymer) and listened to it through headphones and I think its possibly one of the most beautiful songs he has recorded. Yes its not conventional but it is still gorgeous. Sung beautifully, i do think that I will love Manafon in all its strangeness.

Is that the full track, Paul? I'm avoiding listening to too much. I test tasted a couple samples and I think that is enough for me until the album is released. Then I can hear the whole thing in it's full glory. Hopefully in 5.1 if I can get the $$ before it sells out. ;)

I did catch the sample of this one which I was enjoying what I heard from the samples so.... should be good! :)

It's really really beatiful, more direct than Small Metal Gods.

But the low volume of the background instruments surprises me again.

And it would have been interesting to add some chords to this song...

Yes it seems to be the full track, so if you wish to avoid spoilers don't download!

yeah i concur its a really beautiful song, and i know some on here have not listened to the available tracks and I fully understand why and i applaud their will power but i love hearing the two songs and it's really wetting my appetite for the big day.
