In the Wire interview Sylvian talks about the "bartering" system that some musicians now work to, without the constrictions of record companies and managers. Maybe some of the contributors worked for free or very little in return for a writing credit and subsequent royalty payments?

Hasn't Fripp worked like this for years though? He plays for free on peoples stuff and they return the favor. It definitely cuts out the greedy vermin record company people who do NOTHING basically. A healthy exchange of work for work works! :D

True - and David uses Robert as an example when talking about that very subject!
