I've noticed thet there's also a song by Stephen Duffy, can someone post Jacqueline and this one in MP3, here in Chile it's impossible find this record and buy them on internet way too expensive! :(

Thanks for the update. It's interesting - According to the demo information, this song was actually written and recorded back in May 2008. Also, and somewhat surprising, the mix of the version available with the Believer magazine is actually much fuller regards to the aural presence of the vocal and tone of the guitar.

Although I can sense a slight resemblance, I have to politely disagree. Melodically, 'Jacqueline' is far closer to Nick Drake's 'Saturday Sun' than 'The Way We Were'.

Just watching a BBC4 documentary about Picasso and it struck me that this song might be about Jacqueline Roque, Picasso's last mistress. The story really fits with the lyrics.

I guess we'll never hear a fully arranged version.
