To each her own, becky! I find great charm in this intentionally "off" timing.

I really love this song, and would be very satisfied if Sylvian did a relatively "light" pop album. Which I doubt he will....

I agree, this thread has spun wildly out of control.

No question the rhythm track is intentionally off-time...it suites the song quite well I think...it's a delicate, little ditty about the end of a relationship...tired, sad, slow, and clumsy...makes sense to me...
