Stuff you'd like Sylvian to release...

From Brilliant Trees through Died In The Wool...

I'll second that, would love to see bonus material like interviews and extra tracks.[/quote]

but that's never going to happen anyway. we know our chicken well by now. : D

I wish EMI/Virgin would start capitalising on David's work in their possession in an intelligent way. so: In Praise of Shamans live @Hammersmith, the Kin soundtrack complete (with the tracks for Don't Trash My Altar as a bonus), Slow Fire (but I think these particular tapes are David's own loot, if I'm correct). and yes, a DVD compilation of every video that was made - there aren't so many of them that it's troublesome to compile them all in one place.

I think it's a crime that the remastered Brilliant Trees didn't include version 2.0 of 'Forbidden Colours' (the one that was on the old Secrets CD version). besides having that track remastered by Tony Cousins as well, that would have made a beautiful, pertinent coda to an album that has always seemed to me even a little too compact.

I'd also like to see David returning to 'Ride' with the intent of restoring the original version (percussion and all) and including it on Secrets where it was originally intended to be, with the album's intended tracklisting etc etc. now that's never gonna happen. perhaps in David's old age..

An official live album from David would be top of my wishlist, too.

Given his enthusiasm for Tinariwen, his flirtation with Indian music on DBOAC, and the global influences on RTC, I'd also like to see him do a "world" album (yes, I hate the expression "world music", too, but for want of a better phrase...)

to my taste, Alchemy was enough as a World record.
I love it, but it's enough like that.
and all the Czukay collaborations are close to "World" aswell, no?

To be honest, I'm a horrible part-timer and I haven't got the Czukay collaborations. In light of what you've said, perhaps I should.

Back on track...in an ideal world I would want to see this;

Multiple box sets:

1. solo
2. collaborations
3. live (all tours)
4. installations/art stuff (re-issue of ember glance + dvd of redemption)

Plus

5. A great big book of Trophies 1-3 + Perspectives + NH + other missed out lyrics

Plus

6. DVD of all promos to date inc. EPK of DBOAC, all the stuff from Prep for a Journey etc

Plus

7. a box set of his ex-wife

Just curious, what would that feature exactly? The four "b" sides to I surrender and her one solo album?

No. Ingrid herself. She would retail at 29.99.

Oh Dear oh dear! SimonP I can't believe you fell for that one! BTW: 29.99 - bit steep for secondhand goods dontcha think? (Astronaut runs VERY fast and locks herself in the cupboard - hmmm - bit crowded in here ...)

Don't worry, Astronaut. I think he meant 29.99 in Croatian kuna - about £3.75. Room for a small one in the cupboard...?
