'Earthbound', 'Endgame' and 'Jean the Birdman' were amongst the songs composed for a post-RTC solo album which would have been very Americana in taste, content and imagery (as already prefigured by a number of RTC tracks - 'Blackcrow Hits Shoe Shine City' comes to mind). The album was eventually abandoned, and this was followed by David accepting Robert Fripp's invitation to work on what was to become 'The First Day'.

I, too, adore 'Earthbound', as well as 'Endgame'. I believe 'Tallow Moon' is from the same timeframe.
