From Brilliant Trees through Died In The Wool...

the In Praise of Shamans tour

I just wonder if the set-list of the concert changed during the tour?
Was it a long tour?
I have one bootleg on double vinyl from I don't know where... is there other ones?

I believe that When Poets Dreamed Of Angels was performed at a show or two, then dropped for the remainder of the tour.

It's been 20 years (OMG) but I am pretty sure they played Poets when I saw this tour in Berkeley, California, which looks like it was the last North American show.

i finally found the eighty days book i bought in London back in 1989.
it has been "lost" in the attics of my parents house since i moved away in 91.
the funny thing is that there is a note between two pages saying:

Richard Barbieri
45A Bargery Road
Catford
Kent
Telephone 081-6971092

Steve Jansen
7 Ladbrooke Garden
Nottinghill Gate

it's written with the handwriting of Saffron, my dear old friend from Hackney,
a huge David fan that I lost contact with some years ago...
And my heart sings of many things

Chet, you have reminded me of something that happened a very long time ago... 1984, to be precise.

I contacted the Musicians' Union and they sent me a photocopied page of their register of bass players. Guess who was on the page...?

So I rang up this number, cool as a cucumber (I was only 13!) and asked for MK. The person on the other end of the phone said he didn't live there any more.

But this kind of thing wouldn't happen now, would it? Imagine the outrage!

(Btw, I asked for bass players specifically because for a while the Musicians' Union thought that keyboardists were the scum of the earth - seeing as how anyone can program a synth, apparently, and it's not a musical skill  - just excuse me while I nip off to my Prophet 5  )
