As far as my cloth ears can make out (but please note I'm one of the people who thought that "there's a virgin in every man" so my listening comprehension skills are not to be trusted!):

Maybe I'm wrong
I should just keep moving on I suppose
But I'll see it through
Just like some kind of fool

You say you care
But this kind of life leads nowhere
Still I guess I'll see it through
Just like some kind of fool

The rules of the game
We constantly play
Can be cruel
If nothing else remains
I've promised to stay
And I do

Crying again
You say these words are just sentimental things
But I'll stay with you
Just like some kind of fool

All the things we say
Apportioning blame
Are untrue
If nothing else remains
I've promised to stay
And I do, and I do
Like some kind of fool

The rules of the game
We so often play
Can be cruel
If nothing else remains
I've promised to stay
And I do, and I do
Like some kind of fool

It's almost the only song i listen to for almost three days. So ya, I can safetly say it's fabbbb!
I found it on youtube, and then I remembered the polaroids story about this song, and it made it even more enchanting to listen to it. I find it very exciting when the older Sylvian is singing something that he wrote when he was young.

The original version had a stanza in French "a la" Despair-but my French isn't good enough to translate it

Where did you get the original track from? Is there any chance to find it today?

I only have it in m4a because my laptop is poor and has converted all my music to iTunes versions...I can up that if you want...???

Alternately go to Yahoo Groups and type in Japan Pioneers and it's availiable for download from there in mp3

I always thought the girl this song was about was the same one in 'Nighporter'...

Wonder who she was?
