Modesto Muniz remixes Sylvian

We are back to the old "good son " v "blemish" argument i supppose. I feel that the mix of smg does add something to the track and is a worthy effort but Manafon has a unique sound and feeling to it and this does not come over with this version. I would suggest that those who were disenchanted by Manafon will welcome this mix ,others may be more cynical.

Been watching a couple of Modesto Muniz remixes on youtube,i know not to everyones taste,
very much like the Darkest Dreaming one though, very nice remix there

Have never been that keen on his remixes, but stumbled on this one for 'Emily Dickinson' and...I have to admit...I do like it ...puts some of the vocal and sax lines in a very nice, new context at times.

I downloaded and put together an "album" of all his Manafon remixes, and I have to say I really love it. Apart from Small Metal Gods, I think all the trackss have things to appreciate over the originals.

Emily Dickinson and Random Acts of Senseless Violence in particular, the minimal rhythms and chords he has added really expand the sound and enhance the musicality of the vocals.

It's my current favourite Sylvian thing. Well, certainly my favourite post-Dead Bees thing.

Unfortunately I can't say the same of Muniz' remixes of earlier and later tracks. In general I find them either a bit bland or unnecessary.
