"curated by David Sylvian" what does that mean? he's like the improv master of ceremony?

he's been doing lots of 'curating' over the past Samadhi decade, live & in the studio.. plus 'track titles by', and 'track sequence by'.. that kind of things. he started strongly and promising with Blemish, but really, because of the latter things which we've been getting more and more of, I'm prone to seeing the whole Samadhi years as, yes, somewhat of a 'curate' 's egg.

I heard Rhodri Davis did something with Sylvian so I checked him out on Youtube. One of those things you either like or not. I did not. Scraping on stuff and setting fire to a harp made no connection to my heart or mind.

Of course, that's not the first time we're encountering Rhodri or Angharad Davies. In fact, they are friends of Russell Mills and feature on his two Undark albums.

Nope, same for me... no connection at all... Like old Yoko above its devoid of anything worthwhile, and it's certainly not art. I'm quite disapointed DS is working with some of these people, most of which being chin-stroking b*******

Well this certainly isn't the "pop" album that was hinted at, is it? "curated by David Sylvian" what does that mean? he's like the improv master of ceremony? Sounds really boring...

I dunno... some of that line-up sounds quite interesting. I remember Maja Ratke at Punkt... her music scared the daylights out of me live. Bought the album, which succeeded in scaring my 6 year old! Some of the other artists mentioned (like Bugge) have done some really interesting things. Will be very tempted to catch a plane to go up there...

That's cool. I haven't heard many of the artists mentioned..however..I actually do quite like experimental /improv music and sound art, so it might very well be worth attending.
That said, the aforementioned "pop" album from our guy had my heart racing for a few minutes.

Still no sign of this new album which was supposed to be coming soon (or at least Simonp had us believe). Maybe it has been released in Scotland.

Sylvian has signed with a major record label.
Some of the recording is done in Air studios
Think it will be released 2017

Great news Swelba, thankyou for the update. So it seems the new album is going to be a little longer than "soon".
